Learning About Meditation

When learning about meditation there are many alternatives. All with the direct objective to make you come to a grounded center of peace. In meditation we let go of what stresses and imbalances us to achieve balance. So how do you pick the meditation that is right for you? The answer is simple, trust yourself! You know what you need for the moment you need it in. You may not be able to sit or lay still for endless amounts of time but this does not mean you cannot have the benefits of meditation and still reach enlightenment. Look into active meditations to teach you how to calm an active personality such as yoga or running or other various forms of exercise which force you to concentrate on the moment and let go of all else. Or try a pendulum meditation like the one in the YouTube video link attached to this blog. Pendulum meditations deepen your connection with spirit. The movement of the pendulum helps to focus an active personality so that you can sit in stillness. There are also guided meditations which allow you to hear the sound of someone else's voice helping you to let go! Do not give up on meditation just because you cannot sit still. Explore and find what works for you! The word meditation means simply to deepen one's awareness and state of mind. When you do this all else falls away and you find your center or enlightenment!
