5 Minutes of Reiki Beaming Meditation

I have put together a 5 minute Reiki Beaming Meditation like the daily ones we use to do on Google Plus. As my life got chaotic I wanted to give you a way to be able to practice Reiki Meditations whenever you have time from the comfort of wherever you find comfortable.

Meditation While Sleeping

In order to combat restless leg syndrome and waking up with arms and hands that have fallen asleep I use a breathing meditation before I go to sleep. Both of these conditions as well as sleep apnea are conditions from our body not breathing appropriately when we sleep. Some people think that just because we are asleep we have no control over ourselves, but that is entirely not true. I have found that practicing my deep breathing practice prior to going to bed limits the times that I have restless leg syndrome while I sleep and from my other limbs from falling asleep as I sleep. I have also found that if I wake up during the middle of the night with restless legs or limbs that have fallen asleep that my deep breathing regulation stops both again. During some nights my dreams will pause and I will have full outer body experiences where my spirit communicates to my body telling it to breathe soothing out the situation and then I continue back to my deep slumber and dream state. It is amazing the power our breath has over our health! If you suffer from any of these conditions try regulating your breathing during the day when you are awake, before you go to sleep and when you wake up. A proper breath comes from the diaphragm and makes your stomach inflate on inhalation. Exhalation will cause your stomach to deflate. You will feel the breath go through your body. If you become light headed this is a sign that you do not breath appropriately on a regular basis. Take time and practice. Life will balance itself!

Holistic Way to Relieve Eyes from Onions when Cooking

For many of us our eyes become weak when cutting onions resulting sometimes in blinding burning and tears. We do not always have time to walk away and then come back when we are trying to get our food prepared. For a quick relief from onion pain stick your head in your freezer. The cold air will soothe your burning eyes and also help form a short timed barrier so that you can continue cutting onions.

Deeper Connection to Your Breath During Meditation

Meditation deepens our minds allowing us to let go of that which we do not need to find balance in our minds, bodies, and spirits. During meditation the breath is very powerful. The breath not only helps us to clear toxins out of our bodies, it helps to nourish us with the energy our bodies need to be healthy. We know that without the proper amount of oxygen that our muscles hurt and we can cause headaches as well as other various medical ailments. But I am not here to talk to you about the health benefits of the breath I am writing this blog to teach you how to form a deeper connection to your breath.

In meditation stillness meditations in which we just focus on the breath can be boring and tedious especially if we are just getting started. This blog is for my active mind people who have to feel as if they are doing something when the meditate. I do want to stop and say that when you finally learn to sit in stillness you will learn that this is the most powerful and active form of meditation because you are learning to concentrate energies. This is a workout in itself as you have to learn control over self long enough to be able to allow energy to flow where it needs to flow, calm where it needs to calm and let go what needs to be let go of. This is no feeble task.

But for this blog I want you to feel your breath. The breathing process is one of beauty. When we breathe in air goes into our bodies, but at the same time our  bodies prepare what is needing to be removed. As we exhale we release these toxins and our bodies absorb the nutrients that we just breathed in. As you breathe feel the breath in your body. Feel how each muscle and organ responds to the breath. Feel where in your body the oxygen stimulates. You will notice that you will feel the places of most stress the most as you breathe. Instead of focusing on the places of most stress focus on the places where you did not really feel the breath go. As you focus on this area and breathe you will notice a pull in other places in your body. If you have the tolerance to allow yourself to just be at peace you will sit and watch as your body processes naturally out that which you do not need and bringing in that which you need, bringing you to a balance.

Blood Type Diet: As Above, So Below

I have been working with herbs and my diet to get my fibromyalgia under control so that I can have more quality of life. On this journey I have also incorporated the spiritual practices of meditation and breathing. This has helped significantly over the years. In addition I get massage 2 times a month for 1 hour sessions. While all these practices have helped take away a layer of the disability at a time I still am not completely healthy. I have been meditating and praying for other avenues so that I can become healthy. It is no fun being 34 and worrying if you are going to be able to walk tomorrow or if you are eventually going to lose control over your legs.

Life has a funny way of giving you the answers you seek. I became involuntarily vegetarian July 2013 when I was doing deep spiritual work in my heart chakra. It was a struggle between my mind, body and spirit for the last year. I averaged eating meat between 1-3 times a month depending on the month. During the last year I have experienced the most swelling I have ever experienced in the 16 years I have had fibro. I even began to experience brain swelling where I would start the day wearing a hat that was loose on my head and a few hours later would have to take the hat off because it was giving me a headache from being too tight.

When you begin to realize that what you eat is contributing to the flaring of your autoimmune system you begin to experience a depression. There is so much you cannot eat and so little that you can that will not make you sick. I walk through the grocery store looking at everything I cannot have that I use to enjoy. Staying positive helps because you become your own reinforcement. Yet is a struggle all the same. It is even more difficult when you are out and cannot get to the foods your body needs. Nothing at a fast food place is healthy for you, besides the salad, and I am not a salad person all of the time.

In the middle of my ups and downs I was talking with a good friend about how the autoimmune disease works. She started telling me about the Blood Type Diet. In her explanation many things that I had recently learned about the autoimmune system made sense. I am type O +. This means that I need to eat more meats and veggies, but I cannot have cabbage, or beans, or potatoes. The list goes on, but as I read this I realized that most of the things I had been substituting for meat were what was said to cause inflammation for people with my blood type. Mixed with what I had already learned about the autoimmune system I was intrigued. Life had given me an answer, but being vegetarian it was not the answer I was looking for.

I sat with this for a few days, going over in my mind's memory the time I had decided not to eat any breads or pastas or anything that was not meat and vegetables. It was the only time in 16 years that I had started to lose weight and my body was feeling good. I had not continued it because I missed watching people around me enjoy all the french fries, pizza and ice cream. While I did not eat this stuff on a regular basis I still wanted the freedom to eat what I liked. Now that freedom comes with a price.

I decided to start the blood type diet based on each meal and record how my body reacted just after eating it. I would eat my vegetarian meal for one meal and then eat a meat based meal for another meal. In another meal I ate my french fries. I noticed the difference in how my body processed each meal. After noticing that the meat and specific veggies were processed much better for my body I decided to give the Blood Type Diet a try.

I tried to find ways to do this as a vegetarian, but it will not be possible. Some meals I eat and I am unable to think about the other life I am consuming, while others haunt me as I eat them or as they settle into my body. Practicing spirituality for so many years I can feel my spirit and the spirit of the animal become one. As such I have turned to the knowledge from the Native Americans and the Pagan cultures in which an animal was prayed over and given many blessings for its sacrifice so that I can live. I take my time to bond with the energy of the animal and the plants that become one with my body and spirit. I charge each meal with Reiki & Ife energy, giving life to the life that has given to me.

Egyptian Calendar

I always find a little bit of history interesting and fun! Today I introduce the Egyptian calendar!

Much like our current calendar the Egyptian calendar was based on a 365 day year that was divided into 12 months. Each month had exactly 30 days in it. Five extra days were not apart of any month at the end of each year. There were three weeks in each month with 10 days in each week. The months were grouped together into three seasons and titled to each season. Each month was known by the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th month of their season. The seasons started with Akhet, Peret, and Shemu. While the names changed based on the kingdom they all had the same concept expect for the Middle Kingdom which gave each month its own individual name; Tekh, Menhet, Hwt-hwr, Ka-hr-ka, Sf-bdt, Rekh wer, Rekh neds, Renwet, Hnsw, Hnt-htj, Ipt-hmt, & Wep-renpet. When the New Kingdom was established it took the same form as the Middle Kingdom in naming each of the months a different name; Dhwt, Pa-n-ip.t, Hwt-hwr, Ka-hr-ka, Ta-'b, Mhyr, Pa-n-amn-htp.wk, Pa-n-rnn.t, Pa-n-hns.w, Pa-n-in.t, Ipip, & Msw-r'. In Latin script this was translated into Thoth, Phaophi, Athyr, Choiak, Tybi, Mchir, Phamenoth, Pharmouthi, Pachon, Payni, Epiphi, & Mesore.

Here is what the Egyptian calendar looked like:

Here is what it would look like in today's calendar layout:

Mahabodhi Temple South Korea

Many know that I am an avid energy healer, reader, & clairvoyant. I recently had the most amazing experience when visiting the Mahabodhi Temple in South Korea! Mahabodhi is named after the worlds oldest tree which is located in Sri Lanka. The temple was the first Sri Lankan Buddhist temple to be established in South Korea just over 10 years ago. I was afforded this amazing opportunity through Ms. Doria Garms-Sotelo who writes an amazing travel blog called Doria's Travels.

http://doriatravels.com/

Doria has been to some of the most amazing places! Take some time and check out her travel blog you will be glad that you did!

Our temple visit began with meeting Monk Wachissara Welanhinne. Here are two pictures of him. One from when he was younger and one from now

He is a very enlightened man who has beautiful energy. You can feel his enlightenment & peace radiate off of him! When I arrived at the temple I had many worldly worries, thoughts and emotions inside of me from my own life. When I met him these energies became silenced and I was able to breathe complete peace for the first time in a few weeks. His peaceful, well-balanced energy reverberates throughout the entire temple and is in direct connection with the Sri Lankan Buddha whose energy can be strongly felt at the temple as well. Here are some pictures of the temple.

A branch from the world's oldest tree has been transplanted and grows at the temple. The energy that radiated from the branch was amazing!

Monk Wachissara Welanhinne showed us the old hand written books of Buddha's teachings that were written on palm tree leaves!

Our adventure in the temple continued with a Sri Lankan/Korean lunch which we shared with Buddha, then with Monk Wachissara Welanhinne, and then got to partake of ourselves!

As we sat in prayer and offering of our lunch with Buddha I felt the Sri Lankan Buddha begin to speak with me about my energy and my path. He touched the center of my Solar Plexus Chakra & my Third Eye. As he did he opened up my path before me. The energy from the path came in visions that were clearer than I had ever seen. Looking at the Sri Lankan Buddha's energy was both beautiful and amazing at the same time. His energy is truly enlightened! The vibrational rate and patterns were of both white & golden energy and the symbol of peace (swastika) was in his forehead. We sat in conversation as he showed me my life path talking about the various things I would overcome on my own path to enlightenment. He smiled and told me that he did not know how but from all the chaos life has been I would create peace. The Tibetan Buddha who has been my mentor and guide for some months now also joined in our conversation. We spoke about many things most of which were ways to allow me the time I need to walk the path of enlightenment while living in an undisciplined structure. They called my structure undisciplined as I do not have the opportunity to live in a temple and devote my life to the disciplines and structure of the Buddhist monks. Yet in this life I am a healer that is to help bring balance to those who need balance and that requires me reaching the level of enlightenment. They call me the healer of lost souls. They talked about my path that was given to me at 14 in which I am to help bring peace and balance the world's religions. To help others to see each other as people and not as Christian, Pagan, Buddhist, or Islamic, but as one people. To teach people above all else how to love. It is a path that has had many difficulties, but as I am now 34 years old I see from my experiences that this is possible. I am grateful to have great leaders and guides to help me on this journey! It was a blessing and an honor to have this conversation with him.

During lunch Monk Wachissara Welanhinne showed me the traditional Sri Lankan herbs that were used in our food.

After lunch we had Sri Lankan coffee and some American chocolate truffles. Doria had brought the truffles as a gift to Monk Wachissara Welanhinne to thank him for having us at his temple. Many people know that my system is very clean because of my fibromyalgia. I drink only water and on occasion a chi latte or freshly squeezed juice from my juicer, I do not take in many sugars on a daily basis, and I never drink coffee. But in such a humble place I was happy to try something new! I really liked how they used a candle set inside of a crystal tray to keep the coffee warm. I had one glass and one chocolate and I could feel the extra energy bursting from me!

We ended the day in good conversation and me getting to show Monk Wachissara Welanhinne how I move energy through a pendulum type device using my hematite bracelet. We talked about the various forms of meditation. He holds a meditation that is open to the public once a month that is on my before I leave Korea bucket list! As we went to leave we received some Sri Lankan tea that is made by Lipton & some delicious Sri Lankan green beans that grew fresh at the temple!

I have traveled to many temples, but here I where I felt the deepest connection to the enlightened spiritual energy & Buddha! If you get the chance this is an amazing place of spiritual energy that you should visit!

Green Smoothies

I have fallen in love with Green Smoothies over the last few months, but I do not always have time to juice. I am use to little to no sugar in my diet so I decided to just mix all my fruits and vegetables together with just a water base. I really enjoy this mix! Green Smoothies are a great way to get your daily nutrients to maintain your health. You can mix your favorite fruits together with a green veggie. I like to mix mine with spinach! I also enjoy adding fresh pineapple, mango, apples, and strawberries into my Green Smoothie!

Meditation Challenge Deepen Your Awareness of Your Mind, Body & Spirit!

I have created a Meditation Challenge that will help you learn about the various styles of introductory Meditation. In practicing each one you will deepen your mental awareness, connect with your body, and learn the beginning steps to using Meditation to create the changes you seek in life!

30 Day Yoga Challenge!

ok I am changing my 30 day challenge up. With the Fibromyalgia I was finding it difficult to keep up with my abs, arms and squat challenges. So I created the 30 day Yoga Challenge! I tried to find a Yoga Challenge but did not have any success. Then I thought I wanted to learn about the various styles of yoga and what better way to do that than with this? Also it allows me to create the times that I need for that day. Fibromyalgia is a day by day disease in which some days I cannot give it everything. In this I can do a minimum of 10 minutes or up to an hour if my body can handle it.

What Will You Do For Your Future Self Today?

I saw this photo on Facebook today and fell in love with it! When I read it I could feel it resonate through my soul. I started thinking on a different level of doing things for my future self that help to keep me balanced and happy! In life the only person we ever have control over is ourselves. When we work to change the world the greatest change we can make is within self!

Become the change you want to see in the world! ~Mahatma Ghandi!

If we all take time to treat ourselves the way we want to be treated in thought, emotion and respect in life, then treat the world in the same manner we will find that we create a mirror effect of that which we want to accomplish!

What will you do for your future self today?

Tree Cleansing Meditation

This is a great meditation for those with active minds! In this mediation you work with nature and the elements. We get a deeper understanding of how becoming one with a tree and the element of water can help us to cleanse our mind, bodies & spirits.

As in all meditations we start with grounding and centering our bodies through the breath. Through the breath we naturally transition into a full grown and beautiful tree. You can choose any tree that you like or that comes to you. In meditation sometimes we naturally attract that which will help us on our journey. For some they enjoy researching the type of tree they would like to become based on what each tree means. For me I just let my spirit guide me.

In tree form you begin to feel the roots of your tree, how they feel in the dirt, how your roots connect to your trunk, how your trunk connects to your branches, how your branches connect to your leaves, how your leaves connect to the air and sun, how you connect to you and the world!

In establishing this connection you will feel your mind focus on different parts of your body that connect to the tree. We begin to deepen the meditation here by feeling the water get sucked up through our roots into our trunks, travel through our branches and give life to our leaves. We feel the complete cycling of water from root to leaf, absorb the sun to give the water extra power, then feel the water cycle back down into the earth taking all un-needed and negative energy with it. As the negative energy drains into the ground we allow it to balance into positive fertile energy. This energy gives the ground nutrients that feed your energy as the tree completing the cycle of healing & life.

You work in this energy for as many minutes that you set your meditation for. For my beginners I say 5 minutes is good. For my more advanced practitioners I say 20 minutes is appropriate. You may fall asleep while doing this meditation as it is very healing and relaxing. If you run into blocks or thoughts and emotions you can turn them into fluid water like energy and allow them to flow out of you with the water. As the water flows through these areas it replaces the blocks with positive nutrients that you need to reach a healthy balance.

Here is a nice Meditation Music to accompany this meditation.
